Top 10 largest wine exporters in the world
According to statistics portal Statista, in 2017 the first place among countries exporting wine took Spain, reports UNN.
Last year, Spain sold 22.1 million hectoliters of wine to other countries.
Second place in the list of leaders was taken by Italy, which exported 21.4 million hectoliters. Third place belongs to France, which in 2017 exported 15.4 million hectoliters of wine.
The following places in the world ranking of countries – exporters of wine products (according to the volume sold) took Chile (9.8 million HL), Australia (8), South Africa (4.5), Germany (3.8), USA (3.3) and Portugal (2.9).
Tenth place among the largest exporters took New Zealand, which sold to other countries 2.5 million hectoliters of wine of its production.
It should be noted that Ukraine is also increasing exports of wines to Europe.
The publication writes that only five months of this year, Ukraine sold to other countries 145 thousand HL of wine, exceeding the export volume in January – may last year by 37%.
This is despite the fact that in 2017 the volume of exports of Ukrainian wine to the EU also doubled.
A similar picture is observed with the Ukrainian export of vodka. It has been successfully sold abroad in volumes twice as large as imported into the country imported spirits. The fact that Ukrainian vodka is considered one of the best in the world, says the majority of authoritative experts.
