Moldavian Culture Festival “Moldavian Wine Festival”
The festival of Moldavian culture “Moldavian Wine Festival” is being held in the Upper Town on September 8, the correspondent of Minsk-News Agency reports. It lasted until 17:00.
This is the third holiday of Moldovan wine in Minsk. It is always very interesting, and today – under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, – said the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Belarus Victor Sorochan.
“Dear Minskers and guests of the capital, I wish you to enjoy the holiday that friendly Moldova gives us today,” said Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Artyom Tsuran.
The wine industry is well developed in Moldova – vineyards occupy 147 thousand hectares. This is almost half the area of the Brest region. Most of the products are exported. So, the Minsk holiday was not without tasting: 17 of the leading wine-making companies of Moldova provided their best wines for testing.
In addition, everyone was invited to try the dishes of the national cuisine of this southern country, for example, flour pies with various fillings, mule pancakes, spicy meat mitites, kirnetsei sausages, stuffed peppers and much more.
For clarity, for adults, to understand how life is organized in a Moldavian village, they equipped a Moldovan courtyard, and for children, so as not to get bored, they installed a game complex.
Unlike last year’s festival of Moldavian culture, which turned out to be rainy and cloudy, today the weather has settled sunny and clear, like Moldova itself. Some passers-by crowded with interest at the pavilions with wine – such an abundance of assortment could not attract attention, others overtook overseas treats for both cheeks.
“I am 80 years old, and I specially came for a holiday from Chizhovka,” said the pensioner. – Today we don’t have any fairs there, but I have free time – so I came to rest. Already wine and cognac tasted, and now I’ll listen to the concert. It’s very good that the chairs are provided – sit and enjoy.
A concert was held on the main stage near the Upper Town Concert Hall. The mood was created by the artists of the “Play” ensemble, the “D.A. T orchestra” ensemble, the international festivals laureate, the “human orchestra” Igor Levchuk, the instrumental virtuoso Sergey Sheptunov and the drumming show “Peppers”, as well as Anna Blagova, Olga Zmurshchik , Victor Mishkov and others.
The organizers of the festival are the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Embassy of Moldova in Belarus.
