leven gold medals won Moldovan wines at the prestigious tasting competition

Cricova sparkling gave way to the best in the category of Crimean champagne, and Tiraspol cognac – to Dagestan.

KISHINEV, Jul 23 – Sputnik. Eleven gold medals won Moldovan wines at the prestigious tasting competition “Wines of the Black Sea – 2019”, which was held in the Russian city of Sochi. In addition to gold, Moldovan winemakers brought three silver medals.

The awards were divided among themselves by four domestic producers – Kvint (Tiraspol), Novak Winery (Kantemir district), Tomai Vinex (Comrat, Gagauzia) and the combine Cricova.

“Red wines of the harvest of 2017 and younger”

The Grand Prix was awarded to Fort Burgozone Merlot & Cabernet 2017 (Bulgaria, Burgozone, Danube Plain).

Moldavian wines received gold medals:

Feteasca Neagra Vinvoyage 2017 (Tiraspol Wine and Cognac Distillery, protected geographical indication “Codru”).

Cabernet Sauvignon Gourmet 2017 (KVINT, “Codru”).

Pinot Noir 2017 (Novak Winery, protected geographical indication “Valul lui Traian”).

“Red wines of harvest 2016 and older”

Best in category – Tomai Cabernet Tourism 2016 (Tomai Vinex, “Valul lui Traian”).

The Tomai Cabernet Bugeac 2009 wine (Tomai Vinex, “Valul lui Traian”) also won the gold medal.

“Rose wines”

Best Pinot Noir Rose Gourmet 2018 (KVINT, “Codru”)

“White wines of the harvest of 2017 and younger”

Best in category – Riesling 2017 (Alma Valley, Crimea).

Moldavian wines received gold medals:

Viorica Vinvoyage 2018 (KVINT, “Codru”).

Chardonnay 2017 (Novak Winery, “Valul lui Traian”).

The silver medal was awarded to Alb de Onițcani Classic 2017 (Novak Winery, “Valul lui Traian”).

“Sparkling wines, classic production method”

The best in the category was “Russian champagne collection”, brut, white (“New World”, Crimea).

The gold medal was awarded to Cricova brut roz (“Cricova” S.A., “Valul lui Traian”, “Codru”), and the silver medal – Cricova brut alb.

“Strong alcoholic beverages, aging at least 6 years”

The best in the category was the Dagestan cognac “Emperor All-Russian” (30 years of aging, Kizlyar brandy factory).

Divin KVINT received a gold medal (10 years of exposure (KVINT).

“Wines from autochthonous varieties”

The best in this category was the Russian wine “Grand Reserve, Ataman Krasnostop Zolotovsky” 2017 (Villa Zvezda, Valley of the Don).

In the Balkans and Moldova subcategory, the Feteasca Neagra Vinvoyage 2017 wine (KVINT, “Codru”) was awarded the gold medal.

The silver medal was also awarded to Alb de Onițcani Classic wine of 2017 (Novak Winery, “Valul lui Traian”).

The winning wines will be presented at the exhibition “Baltic Alco-Convention”, which will be held September 19-20 in St. Petersburg, at a special stand of the Black Sea Wine Forum.

The competition “Wines of the Black Sea -2019” was included in the program of the VI Black Sea Forum of Wine-making, which was held from July 5 to July 7 at the popular Russian resort. The competition was attended by 32 companies from 16 regions of 9 Black Sea countries, 79 awards were awarded in 11 main categories
