The French Champagne House has become the official partner of the Academy Award Ceremony

The French Champagne House has become the official partner of the Academy Award Ceremony for the sixth time.

At the 92nd Academy Awards, many guests will see the familiar bottle and logo – the sparkling drink of the French champagne house Piper-Heidsieck, the history of which dates back more than three centuries. This is the sixth time this champagne will be the only alcoholic beverage to be served at the Dolby Theater at a ceremony that will take place on the night of February 9-10.

Especially for the event, Piper-Heidsieck prepared a limited collection of magnum bottles, which he decided to celebrate in a peculiar way the anniversary – the 100th anniversary of the introduction of Prohibition in the United States.

The label on the brut champagne bottles will be a copy of the label that was glued to Piper-Heidsieck during Prohibition, says Hollywood Reporter.

As Benoit Collard, Piper-Heidsieck CEO, said in a commentary on the publication, smugglers smuggled champagne to the United States in the 1920s and served it in underground bars in New York. The idea of French champagne at home is to immerse ceremony guests in the atmosphere of crazy 1920s.
