The Ministry of Finance considers introduction of minimum price of wine.

Earlier the Izvestiya newspaper reported that the department this year can reconsider the minimum retail prices for vodka, cognac and sparkling wines, and also for the first time to establish them for wine and wine drinks

MOSCOW, on July 2. / TASS/. The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation is ready to consider introduction of the minimum retail price for wine if such decision is supported by participants of the market, the deputy minister of finance Ilya Trunin told to journalists.

“We had a standard answer that if the branch is  pro and  there is a consensus,then  we are ready to consider it”, – he told.

Earlier the Izvestiya newspaper reported that the Ministry of Finance this year can reconsider the minimum retail prices for vodka, cognac and sparkling wines, and also for the first time to establish them for wine and wine drinks. According to the edition, Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation carries out predesign of minimum prices on a uniform formula for all types of alcohol.

Now in Russia the minimum retail price for vodka is  205 rubles for a bottle of 0,5 l, on cognac – 371 rubles.
