Bring your own wine movement hit SA shores

OHANNESBURG – South African wine consumers are paying four times as much for a bottle of wine when they order it in a restaurant.

Many are now taking their own from home.

The trend is known as the ‘Bring your own wine movement’ is happening globally.

eNCA’s Dan Moyane spoke to salewine.co.za CEO, Ryan Sowry who says the trend is working really well worldwide.

According to Sowry, consumers are able to get 5-star wines for under R200, pay a R50 corkage at a restaurant and still be almost cheaper than the house wine.
